In our increasingly secularized world, the response of many, including our President, to the death of Rob and Michelle Reiner, just as the response to the assassination of Charlie Kirk, has become selective – based on personal feelings, rather than reflective – based on the loss of fellow human beings made in the image of God.

If there is no higher standard against which to measure our actions (or thoughts, or desires), then whim is our only standard. We need only justify ourselves – we are not in need of justification by a higher authority.

“Without God, all things are permissible” Fyodor Dostoevsky

Thank you for what you wrote. I did not know any of Rob Reiner's views on the world or politics. I did not care. I was in awe of his talent in a complicated industry. I was so saddened when I read the words Trump posted. Again, I don't know if what is posted is really posted by him or by someone using his persona. (I am far from educated about social media.) It doesn't matter. It was bothersome. It is now more bothersome that the person alleged to have been the murderer was Rob Reiner's son. I don't normally comment on things, though this time I just needed to say something. Today, reading my Bible study, Ephesians 4:29 jumped out at me. "Let no corrupting talk come out of your mouths, but only such as is good for building up, as fits the occasion, that it may give grace to those who hear." I try to live these words every day. I pray these words can be heard and spread more, not just within my family and community, but also throughout the country.

It is also a hypocrisy in that when people were cheering Charlie Kirks death, the Prez was upset. He then went out and told everyone at Charlie's memorial he didn't forgive and didn't want the best for his enemies. He is a mess personally and spiritually. May the Lord show himself to Trump and give him a true revelation of who He is.

Reiner contributed to the atmosphere of hate and division that has been sown in America. He and his fellow liberal Hollywood friends have spent 10 years airing their hate for Trump and every move he makes. Trump is not a warm and fuzzy guy when it comes to dealing with the harsh criticism from the Hollywood Elite. Trump was almost killed because of the irresponsible rhetoric from the likes of Reiner. And most definitely Reiner and all his cohorts would have publicly celebrated Trump's death if the assassination attempt in Butler had been successful. So while I wish his response had been different, I can’t join you in the chorus of criticism. Charlie Kirk, his friend who helped Trump get reelected was just publicly assassinated just 3 short months ago. We need for influential guys like Reiner to cool the political temperature before more conservatives are killed. Reiner was also a very big perpetrator of the lies behind Russiagate, and according to Michelle Obama they were scheduled to see Reiner on the day he was killed by his own son. It’s a very sad story indeed, but all things considered…Trump has a right to speak his mind. He’s not a pastor, there’s no need to hold him to that standard. He’s a politician that has been unfairly treated by Hollywood and their media for a decade. Prior to 2016, they all seemed to like him. His post likely reflected the culmination of what has been a very divided and DANGEROUS period in our nation. I think we should focus on praying for that the END. 🙏 God Bless
