I don’t think it’s that far off that we will see a similar challenge in the US. I was a teacher for thirty years forced to retire 4 years ago due to disabilities. Before my retirement there was beginning to be a trend of paperwork coming from our guidance department (supposed guidance for students) 9-12 in our Public Charter School. The paperwork was “on behalf of” various students who were in the process of deciding to change gender. The directive to teachers was to be aware, sympathetic, and most importantly very careful to comply with new chosen names and pronouns. I barely understood what this pronoun thing meant at that time. I am a Ph.D. and Fellow from Florida State and author of ten books. This student wants to be referred to as “they”? I still don’t get it. However I sat in my chair and thought no chance. There is no chance that I, a strong Christian of over forty years am going to support the deception of these vulnerable young people by calling them ridiculous names that do not match the identity God gave them. The paperwork went in my circular file (trash).

Now I assume there was much too much going on .. the beginning of COVID … me nearing leaving … and the fact that these kids weren’t that convinced themselves so that it never mattered. But I can’t believe I’m the only one. Some militant parent and a dutiful teacher are soon going to clash. It’s coming. Trust me.

I think this is happening here in America and within our own community much more than we realize. Teachers, coaches, etc feel compelled to comply or face consequences. However, it doesn’t seem we have very many Enoch’s who are willing to take a stand. Fairly recently a Lake Mary HS coach was punished by our local school district for praying on school property. Our tax dollars pay for that property and yet I’m not aware of much public outrage from Christians. As more and more Pastors find their voices and begin to fulfill leadership roles, hopefully more and more people will be emboldened and encouraged to speak up, speak out and vote based on Biblical and Constitutional principles. We cannot rely on mainstream media as a source of information as they only push and propagate lies. Truth is essential to being set free and I am grateful for a Pastor willing to share it.
